jayne battersby from leicester | Signed on: Sun 15 Nov 2009 23:49:38 GMT Dad was a farmer,we'd spend a few days holiday in Scarb at the beginning of September each year. The first night would be spent on the tree walk .Dad would jump out from behind the same tree and scare us kids every year. He'd always test the depth of the lake and lift up an oar of mud and duck poo. My Mum,standing on the 'shore' worried we would all fall in the lake. It was wonderful.Magical. We went there every day.So glad its still going strong. |

Peter Snelson from Grange-Over-Sands, Cumbria | Signed on: Wed 05 Aug 2009 18:36:12 BST Thank you for your site, 45 years ago when I was 10 my family & I had our annual 2 week holiday in Scarborough. It was the last holiday that my elder sister came with us, so it was quite an important holiday. It was great, and one of my fond memories is the 'Battle' in Peasholm Park, which was in an evening then. I am currently a voluntary Instructor at an Outdoors Education Centre nr. Grange. Children visit us from North Yorks & I was telling them about the 'battle'. I wasd amazed when they told me it was still on! So, I am visiting Scarborough for a week's holiday in August. Your park will be an important part of that visit. Well done- keep it up, please!!!!! Peter |

My Husband and I thought it was the most beautiful park we had ever seen and when we make another trip to Scarborough this August 2009 we will most definately be visiting Peasholm Park again. |

Fiona Stevenson from Glasgow | Signed on: Thu 18 Jun 2009 12:52:11 BST Hey, Just stumbled over this site as I'm coming back down to Scarborough for the first time in 6 years in September. Can't wait! I LOVED Peasholm park when I was wee, we used to have many church holidays in Scarborough, and the best memories were of the park, the cliff lifts, dodging the waves at high tide (how much has the sea level risen?!) and wishing I had been around in the hey day of the open air pool. Really hope to make it to the Park in September. At night it used to be so magical when it was lit up and I loved the Japanese style and little lanterns and boating lake. Aww, man, it was just a dream and something that really does deserve to be restored to its former glory to let little kids experience it. This is the stuff childhoods SHOULD be made of!! |

James from Whitley Bay | Signed on: Sun 17 May 2009 16:35:30 BST Both my Dad and Sister have left messages here so I thought I'd leave one as well :) I wouldn't admit to my Dad but Peasholm Park is one of the best places we visited as a family as that's exactly what it's all about. Families. Well done to everyone for all the work you've put in restoring the park. |

Jonathan Battersby from Lincoln | Signed on: Mon 11 May 2009 08:58:32 BST We spent many holidays in Scarborough during the 60's and 70's as a family. One of my first memories as a child is of my Dad on the lake in a canoe with my older sister with the front end out of the water where she was sitting and it nearly sinking because of his weight at the back! Would love to take my own little girl on the treewalk now as it was a magical experience for a 5 year old and something that stays with you for the rest of your life. |
