Marc Broadbent from Leeds | Signed on: Wed 25 Feb 2009 12:34:17 GMT My return to Scarborough to visit family always gives me a great sense of depression. What on earth is the Council doing to this lovely resort ?. The Tree Walk Wonderland back in the good old days was a great attraction and now in the following years it has closed because the council wanted the island back in control and for what ? an island that is dead. The Tree Walk Wonderland was a focal point for the North Bay area. May I ask what the Council are doing with the site (if anything ?) and why take it out of the control of the previous operator ?. As a former resident of Scarborough I am devastated at the lack of investment and foresight by the Council. |
Mark Williams from Lincoln | Signed on: Fri 30 Jan 2009 10:07:04 GMT Its great to stumble accross your website and find that somebody is actually tryng to do something to stop the demise of Scarborough as a holiday resort. I have many happy memories of Scarborough as a Child but when I visited a few years back, I was devasted at the decline. The outdoor Waterpark had gone, Marvels theme park closed, Peasholme park Island and Tree Trail shutdown, the North Bay Cliff Tramway shut down, The waterchute and Cliff Chair ride gone or rusting away. I vowed never to return to Scarborough and just keep my happy childhood memories of a vibrant place. At least stumbling accross your website gives a glimmer of hope that one day in the future, Scarborough could rise again for future generations. Good luck for the future Peasholme and Scarborough and keep up the good work. |
